Wistful

I had the best time with my friend. We packed so much into three days and didn’t stop talking.

I was so sad seeing her off. I wish she lived closer but I’m grateful that being so far apart hasn’t changed our friendship. When we get together we’re exactly the same. We do put a lot of work into staying involved in each other’s lives though. It’s so easy when you don’t see people to drift apart and this weekend made me think I need to take more care of some other friendship before I lose those people.

Despite the freezing weather and today’s 4 inches of snow, we managed to see the sights and shop. We had several pit stops of coffee and cakes for me. Al thinks I am worse than her 11 month old for needing to be fed regularly – it’s not me though it’s the -4 month old. He kicks when hungry.

The only black mark on a lovely weekend was my parking ticket. Completely not my fault, honestly!

Apart from that, I had the best time and it’s only three weeks till we go to the UK.

A few photos of our visit.

  • Glad you had a good time. It sounds fun…and so does your trip to the UK!
Snow looks lovely, but cold. (I think I’ve lived in CA too long…growing up, I used to go skiing on my birthday in April!)

  • In that first picture you and your friend look like you could be sisters. It’s always lovely to have friends visit. I know you’ve got to be really looking forward to your trip to the UK.

Maybe when you come back from that I’ll be ready for you to read, if you’re still interested.

  • Looks and sounds like you had a great time, I spent three years away from my friends in Ireland and our friendships survived, helped by the wonders of email and the Internet!

  • Glad to hear you had such a good time. There are some friendships that are so comfortable it never feels like you’ve not seen them for ages. I hope in three weeks the weather will be warmer than it is at the moment.
