10 days to go

I don’t quite know how we got from counting down in weeks to counting down in days! But the due date is rushing towards us. Both exciting and scary.

I am so ready for him to arrive now. Not just because I want to meet him, but because it has been unbearably hot here. Moving around has suddenly become quite a challenge. Everything exhausts me and I can’t sleep anymore either.

I shouldn’t moan though because I’ve had a pretty easy pregnancy, apart from the last few weeks and I know it will all be totally worth it. I just hope they can get that pain relief IV in quickly because having had some practice contractions I will need it!

To celebrate the start of summer I went to see Ghosts of Girlfriends past. I loved it, my friend didn’t, but I laughed and cried throughout. It’s kind of disposable but for a rom-com it does the job.

They previewed My sisters Keeper in the trailers. I haven’t read the book but it looks like a complete weepy. I’m not sure I can stand to watch it. Just the trailer had me in tears.

They also did Harry Potter, which looks fabulous. I can’t wait. It’s going to be the baby’s first film. I’m hoping he’ll sleep through it. I’m also hoping they’ll let me in! But have you noticed during the silence is golden advert they have a ringing cellphone and a screaming baby? Which to me implies they expect you to bring babies – right?

Hope you’re all enjoying the start of summer and the long weekend.

  • Ten Days?! How did that happen? Wow, you are close….it could happen any day now. Any day. :)

  • You have every right to moan! Even if the pregnancy has been easy compared to others. It’s still hard. And you’re still doing wonderful things that take much sacrifice and work.

    (((Hugs)))

  • Oh how exciting – only ten days to go? The end of a pregnancy is always hard work; you’re carting so much extra weight about.

I often thought of taking Son into the cinema but I don’t recall that I ever did it.

Good luck with the last few days.

  • 10 days. Wow. So I guess that could also mean any day now. Will be thinking of you.
P.S. the baby will undoubtly be better behaved than the boy was when we took him to see the last Harry Potter.
P.P.S. have the next wicked lovely book on my shelf just waiting to be read. Can’t wait! Will let you know how fab it is!
